Tea and a Truth Biscuit: Sacred Bullsh*t Is Still Bullsh*t

For years, I was an atheist. Not the quiet, polite kind either. I was angry.

Angry at organized religion.
Angry at the hypocrisy.
Angry at the fear, shame, control, hierarchy and holier-than-thou bullsh*t.

Christianity. Islam. Judaism. Mormonism. Jehovah’s Witnesses. Hinduism.

Different costumes.
Different books.
Same old f*cking game.

Then I started waking up.

And Buddhism caught my attention.

It felt different.

Less judgment.
More awareness.
More compassion.
More enlightenment.

I thought perhaps I had finally found the one belief system that had managed to keep the human bullsh*t out of it.

Well.

That was adorable.

Then I came to Buddhist countries and actually started paying attention.

Not worshipping the pretty statues.

Not romanticizing the orange robes.

Not blindly swallowing the polished spiritual story.

Watching.

Questioning.

Seeing.

And what did I find?

Rules.
Dogma.
Hierarchy.
Mostly male monks.
Very little honoring of the Divine Feminine.
Women being instructed to cover both shoulders and both knees while male monks walk around with an entire shoulder and arm exposed.

Make that sh*t make sense.

And then today, I saw a poster declaring:

“OUR BODY IS TOO DIRTY FOR BUDDHA TATTOOS.”

Too dirty?

The human body?

The same miraculous body that breathes, heals, creates life, feels pleasure, carries grief, survives trauma and houses our consciousness?

Dirty?

Oh, f*ck that sh*t!

The poster went on to explain that our bodies smell, that people have sex and that tattooing Buddha onto such an impure human body is disrespectful.

There it was.

The same old programming wearing a different robe. (Pun intended)

Your body is dirty.
Sex is shameful.
Authority knows best.
Follow the rules.
Do not question the sacred story.

Different religion.

Same control.

And let me be clear: this is not about whether anyone should get a Buddha tattoo.

It is about the deeper bullsh*t hiding underneath the message.

The idea that the body is somehow beneath the spiritual.

The idea that divinity exists outside of us, above us and separate from us.

The idea that awakening requires obedience.

It doesn’t.

I did not leave one religious prison just to decorate another cell with Buddha statues.

My awakening is not about finding the “right” religion.

It is about becoming my own guru.

It is about questioning everything.

Every religion.
Every teacher.
Every tradition.
Every spiritual influencer.
Every ancient text.
Every belief I have inherited, absorbed or blindly repeated.

That includes Buddhism.

That includes spirituality.

That includes my own f*cking beliefs.

This is Holistic Scaffolding™ in action.

Awareness means noticing when old programming puts on sacred clothing and tries to sneak back through the side door.

Wisdom Nugget:

Dogma does not become Truth simply because someone wrapped it in incense.

Keep what expands you.

Question and discard what diminishes you.

And when someone tells you that your beautiful human body is dirty?

Flush that F*ckery and move on.

I love all you people.

Love and ((HUGS)),
