When the Food Rules Change… Again
Every few years it happens.
A new food pyramid.
A new “right” way to eat.
A new list of what’s suddenly healthy, unhealthy, super, toxic, or trending.
And just like clockwork, the internet loses its damn mind.
Experts arguing.
Articles everywhere.
People wondering if they’ve been eating “wrong” their whole life.
When I saw the newest one making the rounds recently, it stirred something in me.
Not because I was confused about what to eat.
But because it reminded me how conditioned we’ve all been to constantly look outside ourselves for the next system that’s supposed to fix everything.
The Pattern Nobody Wants to Admit
Food rules change.
Healing trends change.
Self-help programs change.
But the pattern never does.
We’re always handed another structure.
Another set of rules.
Another “right” way.
Instead of being taught how to actually listen to our bodies.
Instead of learning how to reconnect with our own inner wisdom.
We just stack new programming on top of old programming.
And then wonder why we still feel disconnected, frustrated, and stuck.

There is no perfect food pyramid.
Just like there’s no perfect healing program.
No perfect diet.
No perfect lifestyle system.
What works for one body may feel like absolute sh*t in another.
And when we keep outsourcing our wisdom to charts, gurus, and trends, we lose touch with the one thing that actually knows what we need…
Our own body.
My Shift With Food (No Rules Required)
For me, a huge part of my healing journey was simplifying everything — especially food.
I stopped chasing diets.
Stopped stressing about doing it “right.”
Stopped turning nourishment into another source of pressure.
Over time, eating vegan became what felt most aligned and supportive for my body.
Not because someone told me to.
Not because it was trendy.
But because:
- my body calmed down
- my energy improved
- my digestion healed
- I finally felt nourished instead of restricted
It became about respect instead of rules.
Nourishment instead of control.
And honestly…
peace instead of anxiety.
And Here’s Where the Cookbook Comes In (Naturally)
Somewhere along the way, I realized I’d collected a whole bunch of simple vegan recipes that actually supported my body instead of stressing it out.

- and didn’t come with a side of diet culture bullsh*t
